Right this might get confusing lets hope not!

I want to add another set of lights (led) on my handlebars nothing huge but just make myself a bit easier to see in the dark and make the road a bit easier to see, I found a pair but they are unlikely to fit, so i was thinking with the help of my mechanic/engineer friend of modifying my handlebars by drilling a small hole through to put a bolt in which would hold the light in place (its more complex than that). The question i have, will this A) be illegal B) make my handlebars structural strength weakened? C) Has anyone else done something similar?

Don't drill your bars....it could weaken them.....

How about making a small bracket that will clamp around the bars......or a bracket that uses the mirror mounts?........a piece of metal bent at a right angle with a hole on one side big enough for the mirror mounting screw to go through.....and whatever you need to hold the lights on the other bit......

Got a few ideas this was one of them.

The other is where mirrors can screw in on the handlebars, perhaps making a mount on there that is angleable(is that a word?). The other is a bracket that attaches on the bracket that holds my main light which can then attach 2 extra lights to

Howabout putting them on the bar ends? Pretty easy to modify a set of weights or bicycle mirrors that plug in the end... They'd be easy to take off is need be and wouldn't compromise the structural integrity of the bars.

For legality, bung "construction and use" in to Google and enjoy the read! ;-)

Hi drilling the bars is a big No No as already said you will weaken the bars, clamps are the way to go and with that be sure you don't restrict the movement - lock to lock.

Currently have a pair of small mirrors on my bars ends. Will try a few things, friend says he's happy to weld me some things up to try so we shall see how that goes. It's getting lighter now anyway so less need for them as i won't be riding in the dark much longer.
