eastanglianbiker Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 find out why it is only got the green slip as it normally means the seller has only just bought the car/bike and new v5 hasnt turned up in their name or they are trading and not giving details to person they are buying from, hpi check should show up any problems Quote
banditjohn Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I agree with the last post as a precaution it'll be worth the few quid rather than have plod stop you and keep it Quote
Zipster Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Could be they've secured the bike into one of those Registration Book loans and don't have a V5 to show you. Technically the bike wouldn't belong to them, it would belong to the lender. Quote

In any case it may be an option. Personally I bought a bike recently without seeing the V5 but I had enough documentation from the PO to know who I was dealing with and all our transactions were carried out under CCTV coverage! The V5 appeared through the post about a week later but I was nervous doing it!! Quote
