Glorian Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Two few new biker questions My visor has started to get small bits of damage on it, a tiny crack at one point, is this common? and should i think of replacing it?Second, i've been getting water in heavy rain come down through the top where there is a small gap. is there a way to stop this as it leaks into my pinlock and fogs up. i was thinking some black tape to make it almost completely sealed. Grumpy Old Git Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Sounds like you have either a very old or very cheap visor!if it came with your helmet and is less than 1 year old, take it back to the shop you got it from and complain - They should be able to 'sort it' under warranty (unless you have knocked it, droped it or otherwise damaged it yourself). Glorian Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Hmm only 2 months old and cost me £150 Will take it back to shop then see what they say, it's not very good for this to happen so early on. Quote
mattycoops43 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Yes,take it back.BUT most new visors are not adjusted properly, unless you are looking at £400 helmets. Loosen the screws holding the hinges and adjust it so there is no gap, it takes a bit of fiddling, even if there is no actual adjustment, you can loosen it and wiggle the hinges, there is a tiny bit of movement. My hjc was well out, no actual adjustment, but I managed to get it airtight. Quote
RantMachine Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 My £60 Spada helmet was only supposed to be a stopgap until I decided if biking was for me or not, but I still haven't gotten round to replacing it One year and many many miles later, the little plasic seal around the lower part of the visor has fallen out and one of the pinlock pins went missing one day, so it's a bit drafty now... Time for another Spada special Quote
Tango Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I'm with Matty on this.....you may be able to adjust it to get it to seal better.... Quote
