Glorian Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I find i go through this stuff really quickly when i clean my chain ( i go to town on that bad boy ) each can lasts about 1 1/2 cleans, so as you can imagine this isnt the most cost effective, is there any difference using a cheaper chain cleaner? It's just stripping the grunge off after all? ANd then keep using a quality lubricant. Quote

OhJay Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Paraffin followed by brake cleaner on a towel. Well.. I do first clean WD40 on a cloth, then brake cleaner, then a good lube.WD40 removes the crap, brake cleaner removes the film left by the WD40 and evaporates completely dry then lube it back up again. megawatt Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Yes it is, 25,000 miles outta my last chain. Just don't overdo the brake cleaner. Quote
