Hey guys I have a Suzuki gn125 01 and am having issues I bought a new carburetor now I'm having issues with air flow I am New to motorbikes and have no idea what the issue is it idles perfectly but under load it is as if it's holding itself back at 7000 revs take the air duct off and seems to run fine until hills any suggestions am in desperate need of help

Well it does it constantly but it's a lot more noticeable on hills

could possibly be running too rich which would be why it is better with the air cover off. Try leaning the mixture on the carb. there is usually a pilot screw on them which leans/richens the air fuel mixture.

Have a slight suspicion the screw on top is what your describing but obviously I'm not that clever with it and it doesn't make a difference if it's all the way down or all the way out I really do not have a clue never had this issue with the old carb just couldn't get the bike to run right with it hence why I bought a new one

I'll see if I can find the Haynes for the settings of the various bits of the carb.

could be it needs tweaking.

yep still haven't found it yet. go to Halfrauds and order one.

best £15 you will spend on the bike or order one off eBay

ok having found the Haynes for the GN I really suggest you buy one :)

there's a lot of info on the carbs and at least two types used ones a CV and the other is a slide type.

So would need to know really which one you have to answer this as there's a fair few differences between them

Also my one only covers up to '99

If the plug is white you're running too lean......so you've either got the main jet needle on the wrong setting or air is getting into the inlet somewhere...... 8-)
