Hi Guys,

Managed to snap my key in the ignition while out and about yesterday, half the key is stuck in there, so trning the bike on/off using a screwdriver at the moment. Tried needle nose pliers and about everything i can think of to get it out as i still have a spare key. Any tips, tricks or ideas would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Pete

Super glue is what i used before, i tride a powerfull magnet before but found tge key wasnt magnetic.

Depending on how much is snapped of ive used a stanly knife blade to prise it out.

Yeah I would try and stick the bit of the key you have at the moment on there and then pull it out. Don't use too much though or you will bugger the lock.

Or... get a locksmith out. They have key extractor tools. Not sure how much they would charge though. What insurance do you have? some cover keys.

Will give superglue a try.

I'm fully comp through kwik fit their office is losed so can't get through till Tuesday.

Phoned a locksmith it is £90 for the cheapest to come out for one hour, new ignition is only £25.

Insurance doesn't cover a broken key unless you paid for key cover.

You can buy broken key extraction kits. Using both bits you can get a key cut if you don't have a spare to copy.

I can't see where you are but anywhere near salisbury and I'll get it out for you.
