iDeLonge Posted June 3, 2014 Share Posted June 3, 2014 As I said in other threads I'm after a Kawasaki KMX 125 or a Honda XR 125 but I'm saving up for a good quality one. I'm looking at a Gilera SMT 50cc as a temporary bike for a few month whilst I save as this is cheap. I've seen one that has no restriction, will I be allowed to drive this as a 17 year old CBT holder? Also I have no idea how much faster this makes it and risk involved etc, could somebody help me out? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tango Posted June 3, 2014 Share Posted June 3, 2014 An unrestricted 50cc bike should be no probs if you're 17 with a current CBT....but you should tell your insurer that it's been derestricted....just to be on the safe side.... TomGrainger Posted June 27, 2014 Share Posted June 27, 2014 2-3,000 for a good 125? Not worth it. Spend £1,200 on a good 125 and save the rest so you can get a good A2 bike when you hit 19. If you have a 2-3,000 budget when you progress to A2 then you will have some very nice choices open to you. Remember also that there is a solid chance of you having a spill on your 125 and you would much rather do that on a CG125 than a YZF-R125.
