I have a Kawazaki BN125 and it has cut out a few times now always whilst going fairly near top speed, the engine just cuts out and will not even jump start whilst slowing down, after it has been left for 5 minutes it will then start back up again, I was thinking it seamed like a lack of fuel but not too sure what to do or where to look, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your earth cable from the battery to the chassis. Start with that then I'd probably be wanting to check the switches and relays...

Check fuel tank breather.... Take it for a ride till it cuts out and open the cap if you hear a whoosh then your tank breather is blocked causing a vacuum

this sounds likely. I was thinking maybe fuel/air mixture is wrong, drenching the spark plugs when the throttle is fully open, which would explain why it won't start for a while (whilst its drying out). Thats a non-educated guess though, thinking out loud really.

Cut out again tonight after only a few minutes riding gently, opened the fuel tank and no noise and I had checked the breather and all clear, also zome more info I have thought of, when I start it back up again after a few minutes to start it I have to give full gas for 10-20 seconds then it only starts when I let go of the throttle, just like when it is doing a start after not being ridden for a while and after winter or a long gap between rides the prime switch on the fuel tap doesn't seem to do anything, so any other suggestions guys?

I'm going with a faulty crankshaft sensor or fuel pump.

If the crankshaft sensor is faulty, it would still start on a bump - worth trying next time.

Kind of annoying though because a diagnostics machine probably wouldn't pick it up if it's a intermittent fault.

Hi if you don't find any issues with the fuel system, next time it plays up check to see if you have a spark, it not uncommon for the HT coil or lead to break down once the motor get hot.
