Chrissb6 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I fancy a go at this routehttps://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/A83 ... e?hl=en-GB Has anybody done it and got any heads up or recommendations? Quote
Throttled Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Some brilliant roads and views around there. The Beallach-na-ba to Applecross is a must. Torridan is a rival to Glen Coe and much, much quieter. The road round to Ullapool has long blasts, especially past Loch Maree and then tight twists and feels so remote. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Lochc ... 895418!3e0There is a debit card 24 hour petrol station in Lochcarron village and I do not remember seeing another petrol station until Ullapool. Zipster Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Just back from Scotland in June. Did the ferry to Troon and then travelled via Largs to Gourock. Ferry to Hunters Quay then followed the road to Inverary, the long way round to Oban and up to Fort William as our base. Then spent 2 days around Mallaig, Arisaig, Strontian and then onto Skye visiting Portree and Dunvegan. Back to Fort William via the Skye Bridge and Spean Bridge (Commando Memorial). Back to Troon the next day via Glencoe, Tyndrum, Inverary and Dunoon. A great trip with great roads. Enjoy http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/24/ha8yda8e.jpg Quote
