Hi Everyone,

Well after todays miserable day (Failing Mod 1) I am after a little information, I currently have a Honda Varadero 125 if I sell that and bought say a Suzuki V-Strom 650 can I book my own tests at reduced costs ???

i.e. currently including bike hire etc Mod 1 re-test day will cost £110 (as they say I do not need any additional training), if I booked myself its £15.50

Mod 2 including training will be £420 or £75 if I booked it myself, I realise its a gamble but you could afford several goes at £75 if required.

I do appreciate that the bike will need to be insured and have L-plates on and also need so way of getting to the test centre.

What I would like to know is am I correct and is there anything else I would need to know.

hmm I believe that the test centres can be a right PIA with your own bike...Won't the school let you book MOD 2 no training? Just seems a bit steep, even if they stay with you all day

Yes you can do that. As far as the centre being a pain about your own bike all you have to do is fill out the same paperwork your instructor does when you use the school bike.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm going to do my re-test with LMT on 20th August unless they get a cancelation in the mean time to bring it forward, I work at a school so not due back till 2nd September so there is still time.

I am mainly thinking ahead if I fail again (I know I shouldn't think like that but cant help it at the mo :( ) cant afford to keep forking out £110 for a retest and as I do like the 650 V-Strom could kill 2 birds with 1 stone as they say.
