G-TT600 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 ok.... so what if the Stator is 1/3 a black charred mess?? I assume this means it's done for?I'm thinking changing this will fix my fault, as I can't think of anything else that will cause it? Is there any other tests I can do that will make any changes? G-TT600 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 New Stator ordered, I'm hoping that will fix it I'd Like to thank everyone for all their advice.. This forum has impressed me very much. all responses were quick and useful. Quote
Stu Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Its always like this Don't forget to update us if this solves the problem Quote
Tango Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 The stator has 3 windings (3-phase)......so if a winding goes down 1/3rd of it can be a black, charred mess..... BTW......you're welcome..... Quote
G-TT600 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 New stator sorted my troubles.I swapped them over. started it and had 25V(ac) at idle. from each stator winding, plumbed it all in and got an easy 14V at the battery. problem solved... took it for a good spin and started a few times. All better now Quote
Tango Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nice one mate......thanks for letting us know the outcome...... Quote
