Guest Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Hi,I'm rebuilding my Honda Fireblade 900 RRS. The original head gasket was OEM - a single layer composite fibre/steel gasket that have been around for years. The head has been skimmed and the new head gasket that I have is a Vesrah 3 layer steel gasket (with the layers held together with rivets). It looks plain with no coatings on any of the layers. Do I need to use any type of sealant on the surfaces when rebuilding the head ?Cheers Quote
Tango Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Welcome to TMBF mate.......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can...... I've never heard of using sealant with a head gasket.......normally the pressures are so high that the sealant would just blow out.......but others may know different...... Quote
Stu Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 never known to use it if the manual says no sealant then its no sealant Quote
