Gear jumping?

Hi. I've been trawling through fleabay in a search for a bike. (no luck so far!) I've seen quite a few bikes here and on other selling sites where a bike ad has stated that the bike jumps out of second gear!

Firstly, is there a particular reason why it always seems to be second gear?

And what would be the likeliest cause and remedy?

Could be as simple as a badly adjusted chain........but it could also be bent or damaged selector forks.....

If it's a Kawasaki it's often related to the positive neutral finder. Sorting it can be a major pain to the point most owners will simply swap out the engine.

1st and 2nd gear are the ones that get abused by numpties learning to try and wheelie or just from jamming it through gears without clutch but not getting revs right,often means selector is bent or badly worn as others said often requires engine strip down to repair

Simple fix but a shed load of work to strip down and rebuild.
