GT250 Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 How often do you check your tyre pressures?I was embarrassed yesterday when I took my bike for an MOT, I had 22 psi in the front and 18 psi in the back Quote
igingeee Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Once a week, every monday for example. Can say that I've learnt the air provided in machines at petrol stations are far from accurate but do the job When I first got my bike I wasn't aware of topping up tires, going to work one morning and it felt like I was sitting on the floor and bad handling, took the plunge and was on 18 PSI.. learnt my lesson from there. Phooey Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Weekly for me too ... usually at the weekend. Or if the bike doesn't feel right. Better to check too often than not often enough. Quote
Jnestie Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Once a week. Takes a me a few minutes. I check the chain at the same time. Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Weekly, checked mine this morning before i left for a ride Quote
Tango Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Weekly at least......got a Halfords digital pressure guage on my key lanyard, so it takes a minute or 2 to check them.... Quote
Tankbag Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Every year just before the mot whether they need it or notJust kidding, I'll get my coat Quote
Guest Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 weekly, along with checking oil levels, brake fluid levels, all lights, and cleaning, lubing and adjusting my chain (if required). Quote
Whitey1984 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Weekly checks for me normally before a nice ride out if the weather is good!! Quote
Samadielka Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Weekly. And a good tip that I got from my friend to buy the air pump yourself. Rather then paying 50p in petrol station. long term, saves you a few quids Quote
RantMachine Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Bloody often! Forever adjusting them to allow for shedloads of camping gear or a pillion or both of the above. Plus I have those handy little valve caps that change colour as the pressure drops so I get a bit anal about it Quote
Lumor_uk Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I've got these £10 tyre pressure gauges attached to mine. quick peek once in a while. Quote
Azen Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 So glad this post exists! it's the one thing i have completely forgotten about Checked them last night and the back tyre was on 11psi all filled up and the difference is amazing!!! Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Before any long journey and at least once per month.Never had to top them up more than a couple of PSI. Quote
MissBex Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Once every couple of weeks or before a long trip, I only take her out usually a few times a week at most. I have a oxford digital tyre pressure gauge for quick checks and a Michelin programmable tyre inflator for pumping them up which only takes a few mins.I really do need to sort my chain out though, I don't have a stand for it currently which is awkward for cleaning and lubing and over winter it's gotten a bit rusty Quote

Glorian Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I have an old roller i had for my last bike as i couldn't get a paddock stand to latch on. If you want it it's yours if you pay for postage.Similar imagehttp://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/Njg4WDkwMA==/ ... ~60_35.JPG Quote
