After my bike refusing to start yesterday, I managed to start it on the reserve. So to me it sounds like no fuel coming through the main line indicating a blockage, I will check the tube and see if there is something stuck if not i imagine it is in the tank itself. If thats the case how can i clean it out? Thankfully there should only be about 50miles worth of fuel in there.

It's quite unlikely for the line to block - more probable for there to be a kink or something stuck in the tap/tank.

If it were me...* I would check for kinks and if I found none, I'd take the carb hose off the tap, connect a longer bit to it and give a puff of air up it while working the tap from res-off-on a few times.

*This is not a very safe thing to do and quite easy to get a mouth full of petrol... So I've heard...

However, from your comment 'only 50 miles or so of fuel' - are you sure you are NOT on reserve anyway?

If the fuel tap is on the right, and you had the bike on the side-stand...................

Just a thought!

fuel taps have to be on the left foe many years now due to high accident rate of taking hand off throttle same rule doesn't apply to custom made tanks tho

Strangely enough. I started it up with the reserve, switched to the main, it's fine, rode it for an hour, fine.. .Let's see in the morning.

Hold up - does yours have a fuel pump? If you replaced some fuses at the same time then that may have been the problem.

Nah i changed the fuses after it was running fine. Mostly because the dash fuse had gone so after inspection others required changing.
