Jackpat Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Hi all I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or knows what it might be? My YBR has developed a really annoying little petrol leak. It leaks at the bottom of the fuel line OR runs down it from higher up, not sure which. I took in to the garage and they cleaned the fuel line and connectors and suggested I try it before replacing the parts. Since then I've noticed that it only leaks after it's been stood for a couple of days. If it's ridden daily it doesn't leak! Now I know this is the perfect excuse to leave the kids at home and ride the bike everyday instead , but if anyone has any more practical suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Otherwise it's gonna be £170 for a new fuel line and connectors! Thanks all. S Quote

Adam Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 £10 on eBay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1775439596 It won't be a hard job to do, simple case of remove connector on the tank and take the tank off (it shouldn't leak even without the pipe) then remove the other end from the injector and fit the new one. The hardest part will be trying to get the bloody clips open all at the same time without snapping them! It won't start first time straight after you'll need to give it a few goes to allow petrol to run through. Quote
Adam Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 And if you aren't confident doing it yourself buy the part off eBay and take it to the garage with you and ask them to fit it, that way they can only charge labour which is normally around £40 an hour. Just a little tip don't take it to a dealer they always seem to charge stupid prices, find a small independent garage. Quote
Tango Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 It could be perished O-rings on the quick detach fittings on the tank......or maybe a small crack in the fittings. Be careful when taking them apart as they can go brittle with age and disintegrate when you try to pull them apart..... Quote

I'm more than happy to have a go but that sounds scary! I'll have a closer look and see if I can see what's involved. Fitted a new toilet last week. It can't be harder than that right? Quote
