Do you send off for a new license once you pass DAS?

My phone and wallet were stolen today, which contained my license. I have my Mod 2 on thursday. I am hoping they will accept all my paper certificates and a photocopy of the provisional driving licence that I have? Will they?

My next question was, do I need to send of for a new license once I have passed. If so I might as well wait until after I have passed.

they will need your actual photo card license. and they send it off for you if you successfully complete the mod2

They don't actually send it off. The examiner confirms the pass on his PC via internal weblink as then shreds the provisional.

You will need both parts of your licence. Photocopies are not acceptable.

See if you can rearrange your test date. You need to report you licence as stolen and send off for a new one.

As above, licence is needed so rebook the test now to save loosing monies for test fee

I would give them a call to make sure you can still take your test without you licence card. I was told if I you dont turn up with it you would be turned away. Hope you get it sorted.

Is there any way to get a fast tracked license card?

As in drive down to head office and have it made and picked up on the spot?

I can't afford to rebook the test now.. ahhh

A call to dvla would be the way forward here, i not heard of a fast track but i dont see why not, will cost you dearly though

Yeah I would be on to them now if I wasn't waiting by the house phone for a call back from the police, my insurance company and my phone provider!

I had my wallet stolen a few days before car test.

I suggest you ring police and get a Crime Number and then ring DVLA. I think they sent me some kind of signed 'temporary licence' which I took with some other ID (passport?) and my paper counterpart.

Either way, it worked out as I was able to do the test and passed.

Interesting. How was this sent? It needs to be here by thursday.. Was it something they sent via email?
