Plodger Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I'm having major problems starting my bike just now. Usually first time on the kickstart without choke and once it's running flick the choke on and it's good to go. Installed a new battery last week and was fine on electric start which hadn't been used much lately. Now just turning over and not starting until it's left for about 15 seconds then will start on either electric or kick. Got it to work this morning and at tea break it kicked first time. Stopped it and wouldn't start for ages!! Any ideas? Quote
Mr Fro Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 How long have you had it?Do you mean you can't start it from cold i.e. first thing, or after you've shut it down after a ride. Also, do you mean 15 seconds or 15 minute? Quote
Plodger Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 It's a 07 plate and I've had nearly a year now. Had a spill last week. Replaced front indicators, full headlight, new indicator relay, new battery. No problems with kick starting before the spill. Previous battery was dead so was replaced hence not using the electric start. I ran it last night to check the brakes and wouldn't restart for ages when I stopped for a chat to someone. Could it be the starter not connecting properly? Quote
Plodger Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Couldn't start it from cold this morning as well on the kick start Quote
rennie Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 YBR's are notoriously hard to start!Sue's is full choke no throttle then needs to be leftfor ages before turning choke off and moving. Quote
Plodger Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Mines usually starts easy! I've had a fiddle with the ht lead and it started first time so hopefully it's not a fluke Quote
