Joeman Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I decided since i'm not getting the new model S1000RR (Ive heard too many horror stories) i'd start modding my one instead. These are my existing mods that ive made prior to this week.Strada Racing short levers and preload adjusters:Also ive replaced the pillion seat with seat cowl and removed rear footpegs for a racier look.Tail tidy to get rid of the stock number plate hanger.Carbon rear hugger. This photo taken just after i got the bike - the pillion seat and tail tidy were first on the list! This weeks mods:LED Side lights:Exhaust came off:Replaced with full Akrapovic system:Replaced R&G foot rest blanking plates with EvoTech on the left hand side to match the EvoTech exhaust hanger:Engine case sliders:I'll update as a i add more mods Quote

Fozzie Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Never mind that, the header area on that bike and the studs look fooking brand spankers!Quality is in the detail with this bike! Quote
Guest Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Never mind that, the header area on that bike and the studs look fooking brand spankers!Quality is in the detail with this bike! When it comes to Joe selling it, it will say something like "ridden 3000 dry miles" that's why I'm really looking forward to hearing this beast! Joeman Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Never mind that, the header area on that bike and the studs look fooking brand spankers!Quality is in the detail with this bike!Cheers - yes there is a fine line between cool and tacky mods.Yep, I was surprised myself actually. But the only rain its ever seen was a light shower overnight at last years TMBF rally, and twice when ive been caught out by a vey light shower. It does still look brand new, and ive never cleaned it myself (despite buying loads of cleaning products) ive always left the cleaning to the dealer Next mod is the full length mat finish carbon belly pan to cover the huge gap left where the metal dustbin cat was removed. Its in my garage and waiting... Quote
Joeman Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 First attempt at fitting the bellypan.. think it might be in the wrong location, but it gives a good idea of the matt carbon against the gloss paint. the glossy looking carbon would have looked a bit too bling for this bike i think. Quote
Ricky Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Awwwwwwwwwwww that's awesome, give me it please Can't wait to see it in the flesh at the end of the month Quote
fq-craigus Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Love these bikes! And you have a great example there pal. Quote
Joeman Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Belly pan fitted and first ride with the Akrapovic. its sounds awesome!I used to have a black powerbronze screen. i decided i didnt like it so I removed it a few weeks back.Today i replaced the OEM clear screen with an OEM black screen. OEM black screen is top quality, fr superior to the powerbronze screen. but its not cheap at over £160 from BMW!! I got mine for 55 quid Quote
Tango Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Looking good Joe........what's next on the list?...... a nice set of OZ wheels...... Quote
Stu Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 looking good joe cant wait to [strikeout]ride[/strikeout] see it at the rally Quote
CGD217 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Joeman, I am incredibly jealous! That is a very lovely looking bike.Awesome mods so far. Have you got anything else planned ? Quote
Matt Strange Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 It looks so much better with the belly pan + exhaust. Will you be able to hear it over my bike now? Quote
Joeman Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Thanks for the kind words guys Another mod I forgot to mention is the steering damper upgrade. The standard OEM steering damper is fine for general road use but at triple digit speeds its not man enough to prevent headshake. So before I did a track day at Brands I made sure I swapped out the OEM steering damper and replaced it with an Ohlins damper. As if by magic all headshake has gone. Quote
