Yammyharr Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 So I have had an A2 licence for nearly two years. Under the bullshit, crappy, absolute disgrace of a licensing system that the EU imposed on us I should be able to go onto a full category A licence in September. My question is, do I have to take another test for my full category A licence? I was sure I didn't have to but having read a thread on another motorcycle forum where someone was on about their test, it got me thinking. So I looked it up here: https://www.gov.uk/ride-motorcycle-mope ... quirements and I read on the A2 category: "Progressive access route - 2 years experience on A1 motorbike and a further practical test" I refer you to the bold section. Does this mean that I have to do another test? Thanks Quote
Steve D Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 yes you redo the tests on a 600 ccThat's only another 65cc for the OP so shouldn't be a problem. Quote
Yammyharr Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Yet another expense thanks to the great EU rules. Quote
Dav3y Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 If the rules changed in Jan 2013 and you've not yet held a licence for two years, these rules were in place when you took your A2 test.Surely your school, instructor should have been able to explain this then before you took your A2 test.If you're under 24, look on the bright side. It means once you have had your A2 licence for two years, you can potentially get a full A licence at 21 depending on your age you passed A2.If you're over 24, well all i can say is Quote

Anyway I am 21 and will be taking my full cat A test in September. Then it's a new bike for me ^_^ Quote
