mod 1 training completed yesterday, Test today.

rode up to the test centre in Gillingham with no issues, and waited for my test... watched the guy before me do his and said to myself I got this.

everything went according to plan, and then I started my U-turn.... not enough rev's and 3/4 of the way around I felt it tip slightly (should have let clutch out a bit more to help straighten up) and i put my right foot down.

Silently I called myself all the names under the sun, but carried on and blitz the rest fine.

booked in again for friday will be out somewhere for a practice until i get it perfect every time on Thursday...

only minor i got was taking the figure of 8 a little wide.

in my defence, i do find the CB650 that im doing the test on a little heavier than I would like, I rode a cb500 today and found it a nicer ride... perhaps thats just me.

any ways....

Sorry to hear you didn't pass bud but you know what you did wrong and also how you could have gotten out of it so look at it like a pre test test if that makes sense

I thought you were allowed to put your foot down as long as you did it right once??

Nope, foot down on u turn is immediate fail, no second attempt :-(

what they mean is you only need to do the U turn right once to pass the test IE on the test you must do it right (with no feet going down)

after you pass no one gives a shit :)

Yep pretty sure I've never u'turned with my feet up since my test. Why would I risk dropping the bike? Just put feet down and waddle along!

Or turn round in a garage/carpark type area.

I can ride slow and turn, I juat choose to find a safer option. Ridiculous test.

Any hints on how to do it... im gonna go practice all day tomorrow on my 125.. gonna get it right

Keep the revs up, slip the clutch and drag your rear brake. Lifesaver before you start and another before you turn. Look where you want to go. Simple.....eh?

original plan was mod1 on monday and mod2 today, but cocked that up.

have mod 2 booked with a days riding/tutoring the day before... been riding for a while now so i should be ok as long as i remeber to lifesaver everytime i put foot on the ground....

Ahh it's quite hard judging ages on Internet.

To be honest I think the Mod 2 theoretically should be easier as the examiner has to see what they are doing aswell.

Good luck
