T180985 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 ok ive not done any track days for 2-3 years and ive only been back on a bike for 6 weeks after a 18 month break.... im looking to get on a track day at brands hatch but unsure what group to go for? I always used to go for Inter's and was reasonable confident but not sure if i should go novice considering its been some time since then? any thoughts? Quote
Stu Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Tough one really Only your can decide how quick or slow you are! You could always ask to be moved up a group Quote
fq-craigus Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I would start in novice, get your confidence again settle in and if your feel up to it ask to be moved to inter Quote
Mr Fro Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 How confident are you feeling now then?Nowt wrong with being the fastest in the noddy group although it can be a bit tiresome getting stuck in traffic but it is a boost knowing you're spanking everyone else! However, I doubt it's very much fun being the traffic in inters but you'll probably pick up your pace quicker with a higher tack speed and people to follow.Brands isn't anywhere near complex so if you know which lines to take then you should be able to hold your own pretty well. cockercas Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Book novice, take a few sessions to get back on it. at least no ones going to be passing tight and knocking your confidence. Quote
T180985 Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 ok ive booked a novice evening session at brands hatch to see how i feel, if thats all good i will move up to inters in september Quote
Guest Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I've been thinking about doing a track day/evening aswell. Not sure if it's a good idea as it's my only bike and I cannot afford to replace it. Really want to do it though. Quote
