Guest Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Recently aquired an 1968 cz 473, just wondering what my options are for painting parts, pritty much everything has been bead blasted to bare metal, however there is a small amount of rust (easily removed). Im not looking for any thing amazing just want it rustproof and back together again. Working on a pretty tight budget so i dont mind doing it myself if i have to.http://i.imgur.com/R1WWr1M.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/eqzC2Xw.jpgphotos show every thing that needs painting.thanks Quote
Tango Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Simoniz Tough Black for the frame etc......rattle can job........but it's tougher than standard paint and don't need priming first........ Quote
Mr Fro Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Have you checked the pricing of powder coating? It's cheaper than you might think, especially if you're not in a hurry - they can often tack it on the end of another job. Quote
klingelton Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I'd be real tempted to just get a couple of rattle can clear coats to throw on the bare, partially rusted metal. I love that look. for the frame, i'd powder coat. I think i read somewhere it's about £60 to get a frame done in black. Sometimes you may be able to get it done cheaper if you're willing to go with whatever colour they're doing on that day. Quote
