Joeman Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I think they should just say "sorry, your emissions limits are unachievable, so we're not going to sell cars in Europe or USA anymore."Then watch the German government panic as they foresee thier GDP take a nosedive and Germany flung into recession. Stu Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 so far its only the diesels been mentioned! no mention of SEAT yet! even though they use the same engines so do I now rush out and buy a new diesel car from the VAG group as they will now need to drop their prices Quote
mealexme Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 How many more? Well, if one of thems doing it on such a large scale, you can be sure that loads more will follow. As Stu pointed out, Seat use VW engines. This is fairly common, with car manufacturers sharing engines or other parts. It was pointed out on the news that the large manufacturers will already have all the data from their competitors engines, which they would have tested themselves, so they would have known that their competitors are cheating. And if you know your competitors are cheating, why not do it yourself? It's widely known that they cheat with their MPG figures, so why not cheat on the emissions too?TL;DR Lots more!Personally I think now is the time to buy some shares in VW! Quote
Stu Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I was thinking the same about shares Alex! now is not the time to buy them though give it a little longer and they will drop more Quote
Joeman Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I was thinking the same about shares Alex! now is not the time to buy them though give it a little longer and they will drop more Open a spread betting account and make money on the price fall. then when the dust has settled, bet on the price rise... Easy money Quote
