Titus Pantus Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hi all, I'm currently rocking a nice Shoei XR-1000 Diabolic but am going to get a Caberg Tourmax modular helmet in matt black as I wear glasses and this will be easier plus I can chop and change lids. I am trying to find the outer visor with an iridium finish but am having no luck whatsoever. I have searched all over Google but no luck. Has anyone heard/seen where you can get one from?I'd appreciate any help!!Thanks all. Quote
Titus Pantus Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Only the clear visor there soll, did you pass your Mod 2 today? Well done if you did!!! Quote

soll Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 thing is they may not do one for the tourmax as it has the internal visor.same with my stunt from caberg, lovely helmets just limited on accessories Quote
NearOn Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I had same issue with my carberg stunt, for a while on eBay there was a seller in jersey selling after market silver/dark/iridium etc. But currently I spent a while searching the net for one and they just don't exist. In the end I decided will keep the stunt lid but buy another lid for sunny days, went with a icon dark alliance which came with a clear and black visor, then for extra 16 quid for a mirrored one too. Highly recommend them as a lid. Quote
Varish Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Isn't illegal to mount a dark visor on an helmet on the road? I thought it was, and I spent some money to get an external visor system.. Quote
RantMachine Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Depends on how dark it actually is, the legality is dependant on the light transmission. And of course, if the visor is marked "daytime use only" then it's illegal to use at night, hence some people wearing spare visor holders (aka bumbags ) Quote

I would like the Caberg Tourmax but only if I can get an Iridium or Gold external visor for it otherwise I'll stick with my Shoei. Is it not possible to go to a window tinting place and get the visor tinted? Mr Fro Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Is it not possible to go to a window tinting place and get the visor tinted? Many moons ago when I was even more of a tight arse than I am now, I "reclaimed" some tint film from... well... the bin at a place I then worked at. I dutifully applied it and although it was uncreased when I nabbed it and it looked fine from the outside, it had a ripply effect when looking through from the inside. I ripped it off and threw it back in the bin. Quote
Guest Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Seems highly unlikely to me that Caberg.. even if they're mad Italians would be mad 'enough' to produce an outer 'tinted' vizor for a helmet that comes with an inner 'tinted' vizor as standard. Because the inevitable would happen. some italian uber cool biker wearing RayBans under his tinted inner vizor... would then drop his tinted outer vizor and ride in the Italian sun without a care in the world.. until the moment he went into the shade and promptly hits a wall because he can't see a damn thing. Gutted. Do you know of any similar modular that you can get an iridium visor for. Has to look like the Tourmax ideally...... Quote
Guest Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Not as a flip... the Caberg seems to be one of a kind. Quote

Apparently so but every other biker I see especially during the summer months has a dark or iridium visor, which no doubt were sold as "track use" only, so I followed like a good old sheep and treated myself to one. Though have to say I often go back to using my caberg to have the option of the clear outer and dark inner. Quote
