The Voyager Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I really want to get a tracking device installed on my bike, what are people's thoughts, any good ones out there, will any of the ebay ones do the job..Thanks. Quote
Hoggs Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Weirdly I was looking into this the other day. If money was no issue the Bike Trac system does look amazing. I didn't really find a money is an issue system that I thought looked good and I'm still confused about the differences between gps and gprs and which one is "better" and do you need a sim card for all trackers?Did I help? The Voyager Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Ebay TLT2. 30quid, and stick a GiffGaff sim in it. Thanks, taken note. Have you got one I take it?I have a clever hiding place on bike, the thing will be out of reach without tools, plan is to even seriously gaff tape the thing up so no wires and even the box itself will not be able to be seen even fit the secret compartment was foiled. What are you opinions, not battery intensive is it? Quote
Joeman Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I like them. They do a waterproof version and non waterproof so make sure you get the waterproof one!Three wires to connect to the bike so easy to install. You control it by text message. The format is a little cryptic but you soon get used to it.Google for the manual and you can get an idea of what it can do.For the price I think they are pretty good. You can put them into low power mode to save battery. It only wakes up when it senses movement. Also if your bike battery is dying it will message you, although that's too late for the bike to still start under its own power. If you ride regularly you won't have a problem. I bought a few budget trackers to try and of the ones I bought the TLT2 seems the best. Quote
Roxyy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 maybe not the ebay one and not the cheapest but I really recommend Bike trac system. Text alerts and phone calls when bike is moved, you can login on the website and see on the map where your bike currently is, history of all routes and your speed (can switch that off), text alerts when battery is low or when battery is disconnected. Well worth the money Quote
