Found an issue today. Found that my oil is very creamy and milky. Drained the oil the find the oil is actually black but looking at the oil level window and in the air box there is a lot of milky substance. Also opening the oil filler while running there was loads of what I can only describe as steam. What's going on here?

Possibly just a lot of moisture in the system?

You say oil filter? Do you mean filler cap?

Change the oil and see what happens, if possible to do so before this, wash the inner window.

Then see what happens, if it's cured then problem solved, if not we'll go from there.

Well first of all, breathe a sigh of relief that your bike is air cooled because at least you know it isn't coolant in the oil

Have you been using it for a lot of short commuting or other short rides over the winter? Chances are you've had some moisture work its way in, and it hasn't burnt off because the engine has never warmed up enough or remained hot for long enough. Fresh oil, keep an eye on it, try and get the odd longer ride in every now and then, and if it happens again then maybe check if water could be working its way in somewhere. But, no worries about that just yet. Chances are that if water could get in (beyond mere condensation) then you'd have a whole other problem with oil getting out

My bike pretty much always has creamy oil just now. On my 7 mile commute it simply doesn't get up to temperature for long enough to burn off all the moisture in the air it sucks in. During the summer it is much better, still occasionally does it on short runs or cold days.

Apparently it is completely fine, but the garage and various other people recommend an oil change when the outside temperaturr stays higher.

I'll probably do an oil change next month, in the hope we stop getting near 0°C mornings.

it is fine but to much creamy oil emulsifies in the filter and can cause it to block if not careful it is best to give the bike a good run at least once a week if it is only used on short journeys so that you allow the oil to get up to a good working temperature

oil drained. it looked quite fine tbh. just a bit black and dirty. no emulsfied oil at all. just a bit the the air box and some by the oil level window. the oil level was a bit low. as around 1.2 litres came out when its meant tio take 1.8 litres. new oil and filter in so will take it for a good proper run tomorrow and see what happens! the bike is for its mot next tuesday after 8 years sitting in a garage. it took a bit of work to get everything back into working order but im getting there! having a bit of an issue with the carb atm. will only rev with very slight twist of the throttle. twist it all the way and it just dies out...lack of fuel or too much fuel.
