Callist Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Hi,I had a little incident where my bike was dropped at low speeds (< 15mph) and after a day I noticed the front right fork had oil leaking down onto the brake discs and tyre. I assume a fork component is damaged but which component is the likely culprit and how could I go about investigating the exact damaged component?Thanks.P.S. They are USD forks. Quote
Mr Fro Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Assuming you haven't got a hole or fracture in the bottom part of the fork, you should take a look at the stanchions and see if you've got any dents or scratches. Also take a look at the dust covers and seals. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 might of knocked the seal out of shape and allowing a bit of oil to leak out but as mr fro said check the fork leg condition to make sure its not damaged and then fit new seals on both forks Quote
Callist Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 Thank you both. I'll take a look at these in the morning and see what condition they are in. Quote
