EthanKing Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 So I had a bit of a close one yesterday on my way to work. I was doing 60mph around a left hand bend that turns into a right hand bend that I take at 40mph. As I'm coming out of the left hand bend I see an unavoidable oil spill where I would straighten up and slow brake just before the right hand bend. I instantly let off the throttle but was still doing 50mph round the bend in heavy wind and rain. I struggled a little to get it around the bend with the wind but thankfully I brought it around safely. Should I have used the brakes going through the oil spill or did I do the right thing? Quote
Stu Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 did you crash? Nostop worrying but dont brake on oil it doesnt work! Quote
Chrissb6 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 As Stu rightly said, you survived lesson learnt, always be prepared for the unexpected. Quote
EthanKing Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Ahh no I'm not worrying (anymore ) but just for future reference. So don't brake in oil, thanks Quote
JRH Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Yep. No braking, no acceleration, try not to steer or lean either Quote
GaryJM Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 If you see it before you hit it other than don't brake etc ...... Pray is my advise Quote
