Damaged exhaust question

Hi guys, to add to my Yamaha YBR 125 woes, I've a new issue......

My exhaust pipe has come away right before the 'fat' end of my exhaust.

I need to know is this safe to ride till I get it repaired (not come away completely, but there is a 1/2mm gap in one section), can it be repaired (welded, re-sealed in some way) could I do it myself and most importantly, please see my other posts, can this explain any of the problems I've been having? Cheers.

can you get us a photo?

I'm wondering (can't remember) if the exhaust is in 2 sections. therefore you might be able to slap a bit of exhaust paste on it and bosh a jubilee clip on it. if the split has a good bit of pipe either side, gum it up with exhaust paste and use a bit of thin steel (a steel drinks can will work fine) with 2 jubilee clips to hold it in place - until you can afford a replacement.

I'm in work so haven't got a pic I can upload, but you've the curved pipe straight from the engine which then attaches to the Muffler/converter, its at this attachment point that the pipe is coming away. But will look into the paste idea as I've spent loads on getting this bike back up to scratch without this adding another £100+ to it.

got to agree for short term repair (bodge) you can use a metal ti either drink or food cut it down its length wrap it round the exhaust with a bit of exhaust paste also then jubilee clip at each end to hold it in place i wouldnt say use this for long term but it would certainly get you home
