Tango Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Dunno about those bits, but Almax chains are supposed to be the danglies.....A bit more expensive though...... Quote
Simon m Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 Ok cool thanks I was looking at this then in a month or so time spending a lot more on a cement in ground anchor and a beast of a chain but this to tide me over in the mean time Quote
Throttled Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Get something that is on the list of recognised locks when you insure the bike. Anything Sold Secure or Thatcham rated should be there. Unknown products will not help with insurance. Quote

Unknown products will not help with insurance. I've got myself an Oxford chain, it was cheap, £45.Are these recognised? I park in a garage. I got my insurance before the chain. Would ringing up the insurance company reduce the cost of insurance? I pay by DD. Quote
Throttled Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Probably because it is Oxford. Parked in a garage is the main security. There would be no harm in contacting them to say you have increased security. Quote
Simon m Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 I have got two of these on order which look prity good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-HEAVY-DUTY-Y-GROUND-ANCHOR-MOTORCYCLE-CARAVAN-QUAD-TRAILER-BIKE-DOG/322225912950?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D37255%26meid%3Dcbe060ad4ed24244bb3ec8f3a6efe90c%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D222207542770 Quote
simpss774 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Made up something similar for a mate new garage I was helping him put in. Made them out of 5mm box it was just a U made out of 3 bits of box cut at 45 degrees. Made two for each bike mesured the wheebase of his 3 bikes and put them in so he parked with the wheels inbetween the U. Oxford chains front and back. Took me all of 10 mins to make each U and he got £50 off his insurance because of the new garage and extra security. Not exactly cost effective but its was more about peace of mind. Quote
Simon m Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 (edited) It's the peace of mind I was thinking about more I am going to sink them in when I pour the base as well as putting a drain in Edited August 14, 2016 by Simon m Quote

Might be cheaper than buying, and you know there going to made right. Quote
