Tyre losing air.

I appear to have a slow release of pressure on my tubeless front tyre. There's no puncture but a quick bubble rinse shown me that the air is escaping from the base of the valve (the rubber bit where it meets the wheel)

Does this require me buying a new wheel/tyre? Or does it involve a new valve replacement?

Welcome to TMBF mate. ......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ...... 8-)

I'd say it sounds like you just need a new valve, as long as the wheel isn't corroded around where the valve seats....... 8-)

Hi, at the most I think you might need a new valve, their not expensive , but before that ,try buying a valve key which you can get easily enough screw it onto the valve and try lifting it up slightly it might re-seal :thumb:

  • 2 weeks later...

It appears the valve core isn't the issue. I replaced it and still it let's air out.

It's escaping at the crease where the valves rubber outside meets the the tyre. Any other suggestions?
