Phooey
Just checking ... brake light doesn't operate with front brake. Rear works fine so not balb. Took connectors off and shorted across ... brake light works. Nothing else not working so brake light switch duff? Do you agree?

Grumpy Old Git
A spray with 'contact cleaner' can help.
Guest
They cost about £4 though?
Phooey
Thanks guys ... got a replacement ... the old one had something broken because the pin floated with no spring.Anyway, fitted the new switch and the brake light comes on but only when the lever is pulled right in - (i'd be over the bars by this stage with the fireblade upgrade calipers) - so, is there a way to adjust it? I can't see a way.I have a feeling the bloody MOT people will fail it again.
Tango
Any adjustment in the switch position? ......otherwise you may need to improvise a bit.....
Phooey
No, Bob. It has a location pin that needs to be seated. I cant think of a way of improvising
eastanglianbiker
cant you super glue something onto the end of the pin to extend it slightly
Stu
It will need shortening not extending
fq-craigus
I replaced two on my last gixer, they are common enough to be faulty
Phooey
Pulled the old one apart and found the spring had come detached ... bar stuard to put it back on but managed it and now the switch works. Happy days. Back in for MOT Monday.
