Guest Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 I think it's brilliant that girls can do mechanical stuff.I remember about 15 years ago that Bill Smith in Chester (prestigious dealer......he was a top racer) had a girl mechanic. By all accounts she was really good......and she raced bikes as well. Quote
fq-craigus Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Would love to say yes but that would open a can of worms. I saw a video of a panagale being stolen from London somewhere and the bloke just recorded it and as they were pushing it down the street he announces 'they just stole that bike' Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Quote
Mr Fro Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Lol, well I did consider it, but just had brand new wooden floor put in the hallway. Had visions of dropping it and making a huge dent in the wood!!Plus I wanted to see what was inside and save any of the good stuff to stash away in my garage that will come in handy probably neverShould have got the skateboard out! On the gender stereotyping; I agree that many people would rather pay someone else to do a simple job than get their hands dirty - just look at Halfords with their "fitting" offer - £4 odd for a wiper blade that takes less than a minute. Sex is irrelevant in that case.I'm hugely proud or Mrs Fro, she's been very successful in a male dominated field. She showed me a drone vid of one of her construction sites the other day and it's bloody massive - scores of blokes building away. Plus she can do bits and bobs to her car when it needs it however I still do them for her because I want to save her the hassle - does that make me gender prejudice or just a nice bloke? On the original subject; I'd weigh up whether my intervention was necessary and justifiable before I waded in and also if on balance I was going to come out on top. I've been in situations where I had to get stuck in even though I was almost positive I'd lose and they weren't that pleasant.A lot of people simply don't know what to do when a situation develops - if things start getting frisky a lot of people lose all sense of themselves or freeze up - I've seen it happen any number of times so they can't really be blamed.Oh, and the wife has never made me a sponge but I know I can make a decent cake. Mawsley Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I don't like cake. Real Mawsleys don't eat cake, we eat sushi with metric tonnes of wasabi and blood vessel crushing levels of soy sauce. Cake? Pah. *Krispy Kreme donuts are not cakes. Quote
Guest Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 That escalated quickly I haven't read all essays but....In my personal opinion. Man works, brings money do all repairs maintenance stuff around the house and garage. Woman duties are to look pretty, take care of the kids, clean and cook. Simple and as it should be Quote
Joeman Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Went shopping for a pram and baby seat today. Discovered that young teenage lads are the absolute worst people for mothercare to employ as pram/carseat salespeople as they have no clue about babies or cars as they have neither!!Ended up telling one of the two lads who were trying to serve me to go and ask his manager a question and then when she came over I ignored the lads and dealt with her directly.Young spotty teenage lads trying to sell carseat and pushchairs = FAIL.
