Cover - bike and top box

Can anyone recommend a decent cover which will go over a bike and it's top box? Doesn't seem to be a huge amount out there, but any suggestions would be welcome.

Would be happy to look at sheds or other tent-style covers too, but I only have about 115cm of width to play with, which is limiting my options somewhat. The videos of these Stormprotector ones looks like they wouldn't go over a top box either.

I just bought this mate it's ideal I don't have much space so I had to forget idea of sheds etc this is bang on good quality and for £50 I couldn't knock it

I have one of these and it covers my triumph explorer with topbox and panniers down to half way up the wheels. But the explorer is a very tall bike and tge boxes aren't small. I only use this when parked at work though. At home is in the garage.

Oxford do good covers.. two types, one thats like a tent fly sheet.. so very light. they're not 100% waterproof. but they are very breathable.

the second type is like a heavy duty plastic. not breathable.. but completely waterproof. both types have plus and minus points... for instance some people dont like completely water prrof covers as they can act like a sauna of sorts.. water from a wet covered bike cant easily evaporate off.

J&S at lenton or.. possibly cheaper online. if the size is an issue.. then dont leave the top case on 24/7. mine is only used when i need it.

as for sheds.. Im not a fan of the metal crate type.. but I have been looking at strong/secure wooden sheds. made to order and installed.. http://www.beastsheds.co.uk/beast-sheds

which would be a complete turnaround for me as currently.. and for the past 16 years I have had zero security on my bikes.. relying only on keeping them completely out of the view of prying eyes.

JDC do a fairly heavy-duty cover with options for one which will cover a top-box. Worked well for me so far. You can find them on Amazon they should pop up with a quick search.

I have tried all sorts of covers and now go cheap with this huge one from Ghost bikes;

Presently £19, it is not entirely waterproof, but, unlike heavy duty covers, the bike dries out quickly once the rain has stopped. I found with expensive heavy duty fully water proof covers, if you put your bike away wet it stays wet and condensation gets trapped inside. The XL Ghost bikes fits a Versys with a top box and its panniers on. Plus it it easy to get one and off. I have a cheap ratchet strap to wrap around it to keep it in place.

Looks perfect, will give it a go.

Also considering building a bit of a lean-to type structure from cheap fence panels to give it that bit more protection from the elements. Will mean naff-all for security really, but that's what the big chain is for.

Cover is working out well so far, and mine has a strap to clip under the bike too.

However, just wondering if you've ever had an issue putting it straight on after a ride? Has a supposedly heat-resistant panel where the exhaust is, but given that it sizzled when I put it on the other night I've left it tucked up on the pillion footrest since!

Oh yes, good point. Might stick with the exhaust uncovered for now then!

This may be a totally daft question but I was thinking of getting a cover but was wondering, if it had been raining overnight, where do you store your wet cover when you are out on the bike? I don't want to hang it up in the garage as I don't want to cause dampness in there. What do you guys with covers do with them? Cheers

I would hang it somewhere against a wall or fence, if possible.

I happen to have a spindle (I think it is called) for my gardenhose on my shed.

When the cover is wet, I hang it there. It would be better if it was a bit higher, I may replace it later still.

For now, this will do

By the way, I never put the cover over a wet bike.

If you do that, the water on the bike has nowhere to go, so I let the wind blow the bike dry before |I cover it.
