Liveware Problem Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Hi, I'm trying to remove the stock exhaust from my Hornet, got as far as taking off the various bits of plastic and undoing the clamp that holds the silencer/link pipe to the exhaust system.. But now I can't get the damn thing off! I've sprayed a load of wd40 on to try and lubricate it, been able to twist the exhaust but I can't pull it up and off, there's seemingly not enough space to lever it off. Any suggestions appreciated Quote
MR_W Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Keep twisting as you slowly pull it? Think I had to do that to eek the stock exhaust off my thundercatSent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Quote
Liveware Problem Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 Thanks! Eventually got it off, have pretty much wrecked the end of the stock exhaust!Any tips on fitting a new one would be great Quote
MR_W Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Don't wreck the end of the link pipe. Don't over tighten the clamp where the link meets the downpipe. Make sure the new one doesn't catch anything when suspension compresses. You may need a spacer between the exhaust bracket and the pillion peg to avoid fouling.Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Quote
