Tango Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 It'll be quicker just to swap the coils mate....... Quote
SlowBusa Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I assume your Coil packs click into a harness like mine?make sure you hear (or feel) a "click" when you push them into the harness (wiring side) plug Ive had the little inner rubber seals stopping them seating properly before Quote
oldgrump Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Hi< you can just swap the two wires leading to each coil under tank from one coil to the other one, I take it it's a early GSF600, then check both for sparks, then if other coil sparks you know coil ok and it's deeper. But check coils first, maybe you lost one coil! post when you know. Quote
fastbob Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Ok So pulled plugs getting NO spark from plugs 2&3 Tested by pulling plug resting in block started the bike no spark It still started with plug out Plugs are brand new So does this rule carbs out ?Do plugs 2 & 3 happen to run off the same coil ? Update, yes they do. Edited October 30, 2017 by fastbob Quote
Neal Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 Not sure I’ll have a look later If so I expect the coil has gone ? Quote
oldgrump Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Hi, Remove tank, and find the coils, each coil is fed by 2 small electrical wires, first check that wires going to R/H coil are fitted tightly, if so swap wires from L/H coil which is (or should be fitted to plugs 1 & 4) to R/H coil, then crank engine over to see if plugs 2 & 3 spark, if they do, then coil is working. And you have lost feed to that coil, could be a broken wire in loom or pick up, or ecu.Have you a workshop manual? And what bandit is yours? year model. Quote
JRH Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Have a look here for a manualhttps://www.manualslib.com/brand/suzuki/motorcycle.html#G Quote
Neal Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 Looks like slowbusa gets the gold star The connecters had either came loose or was shited up Took connecters off cleaned replaced Fired up I don’t know if me doing that or they just came loose Is there a way I can crimp them up to stop them from coming loose again Cheers Quote
SlowBusa Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 You can buy connectors on ebay but you "May" have to trim the rubber gromet a little with a razor blade to get them to fix snugly But as long as the old ones click into place you should be okIf they are still a little loose or your not happy with the conection what you need to do is VERY slightly bend the pins....and I mean Slightly! That will force the metal together making a tighter connection Quote
Neal Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 Cheers I’ll see how they go I must have pulled them taking tank off to fix split hose Hope it’s sorted left it running for 20 Mins all good Thanks for your help Quote
