Morpheus Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Don't suppose it could be a head gasket issue? I would of thought if it was it would be a problem all year around but might be worth a check! Quote
Tango Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 I answered in your introduction thread, but it's deffo worth burping it by squeezing the top hose several times, as you can get airlocks in the water jacket which will give you the symptoms you've described. ...... Quote
fastbob Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 You are actually filling the entire cooling system and not just the expansion tank ? I've read of people who think that the expansion tank is where you put the coolant into the bike but I would recommend filling directly into the rad cap and then topping up the tank afterwards.Another thought, maybe part of the radiator is blocked off thus making it less efficient . Perhaps some skinflint repaired it with Radweld and it actually worked for once but blocked off several of the crossflow pipes. Lastly, does the water pump function as effectively as it should ? Maybe you can temporarily put ordinary water in the system then run the engine with the return hose off to see what volume it chucks out . Quote
