Lock questions

Hi all, still new to biking so not familiar with some terms etc. I’ve just got my new bike, and my disc lock doesn’t fit the front discs, only the rear. I wanted a second disc lock as it is so not a bother. But I don’t know that will fit the front. The reason my oxford screamer doesn’t fit is the pin is too thick. I’ve checked the specs and it states it’s a 7mm pin, can anyone tell me which dimension this refers too? Width or length?

It refers to the pin diameter.

Will it not hook over any part of the disk, it don't have to be through one of the holes.

Agreed, mine goes over the disk rather than through the vent holes.
