Pairing a Scala Rider Q3 Headset with a cheap intercom

I guess the title should kinda explain what I'm trying to do.

I have a Scala Rider Q3 intercom. A friend and I will be going on a 10 day trip in July and I thought it would be useful to be in contact as we go. He doesn't have an intercom and he will be doing the trip on a tight budget so he wouldn't be prioritising an intercom. The thing is, I also have a cheap Chinese intercom called Freedconn which I used before I got the Scala. I was wondering if it's possible to connect the 2 of these units and I am hoping someone can give me a definitive answer regarding their compatibility. They are both bluetooth units and both work fine on their own. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that the Q3 can only connect to other scala riders! I have the Q3 and I believe I have read this somewhere before but I can't think where!

Me and me dad have Sena's , my dads mate bought a cheap headset can't remember what make , we couldn't get it to pair .
