On completing the weekly service checks, and ensuring everything is in good order, I thought it time to check the chain tension. Need to take up 5mm of slack.

On following the manual, word for word it states the to;

Loosen the rear axel nut, and then both rear chain adjusters.

My stupid question if the day is, do you adjust one axel at time, or loosen both of the axel nuts as well as both adjusters?

The servicing manual is not at all clear!

I want to get this right as the chain is pretty important

rear wheel has 1 axle

the bolt that goes through the rear wheel

slacken axle nut sufficently ( does not have to be extremely loose )

use chain adjusters to tighten chain enough and to ensure wheel alignment is correct

tighten axle nut

recheck tension and wheel alignment

you should technically tighten chain adjusters to tighten chain and loosen to loosen chain tension .

Got it thank you.

So make sure the guide lines on the swing arm are the same both sides?

Thanks

Yes but also better to do both chain tensioners the same 1/4 turn each at a time so they are both equal

The lines on the swingarm are just a rough guide
