Sticky indicators when cold.

Good morning All,

I had this issue last year and with the change in weather it has returned; the indicators on my Honda VFR800Fi are temperamental on cold mornings/evenings. The switch itself isn't sticky, but when actioned there will often be no indicator action for a minute, then the relay clicks and off they go. Sometimes I get a single click then back to nothing.

Given this only happens in the cold weather my thoughts are a sticky relay more than anything else as will be original (2001). Any thoughts before I swap out replacement?

Hi [mention]noctrl[/mention] , I've been using Vfr 800 for year's now, and some winter's mine play up, I just keep spraying the inside of the switch with electrical spray, and that normally sorts it out.

Never replaced the relay.

I had that on one of my Honda's years ago, some switch lube did the job. Not WD40 as that is only a very temporary fix and then it makes things worse. I used bike spray with teflon.

You can get 'Contact Cleaner' which works really well - Maplins used to sell it
