Engine problem

Hi there, I have a issue with my main commuting bike, as I ride it every day it has a hard life, I am worried the engine has completely died on me, was out for a short ride we’re I noticed it was making a noise that sounded like metal knocking or grinding the then loss of power and finally no power at all, did not fully seize up and will now not start. Any help much appreciated. Cheers Matt.

Sounds like a partial seizure to the bottom end, due to lack of oil to big end bearings. drain your oil into a container and run a magnet through it and look for metal particles.

Could be broken rings. Dropped valve - until you do more checks and/or strip and look, you won't get far.

When you say it 'won't start' - Does the engine turn over but just does not fire?

Try taking out the spark plugs and seeing in there is any pressure during cranking.
