  1. Buy metric so no messing with conversions. Get a digital one if possible, I'm sure the dreaded fleabay will have a few listed, and if they couldn't measure .100 accurately they were no good in the first place
  2. Just recently I've had a elderly gentleman come round a roundabout and through three sets of lights going the wrong way and heading for me, and an elderly lady on the A5 doing about 30 in a 50, then at a roundabout went round in the right hand lane then tried to change lane into the left one, in front of me, no indicators, only to have to swerve back over because she almost sideswiped a car already in that space. As soon as I could I overtook, only to have her move over on me and the way she was staring out the windscreen I don't think she could see properly
  3. Depends on the weather and if my left hand is up to holding the grip for any long distance
  4. A joke did come to mind, 2 old ladies were sitting on a park bench when a streaker ran past. One had a stroke, but the other couldn't reach
  5. Occasionally my TomTom up updates go weird and it just seems to stall, then up pops the error message TomTom not responding so you have to start all over again. I've ended up deleting all maps and only loading GB and Ireland so it takes less effort
  6. As I posted earlier, copies of your licence are not accepted, it Must be the original. I sent signed (by the librarian that created the photocopies and a copper at a local one_stop office as to their authentication), copies of a previous paper licence with my driving number on it and it was refused on the grounds it could be fraudulent
  7. One thing to note if you decide to go for a bimble before Swansea sorts it out. Something I discovered during my case is the wording of the law although you have all the entitlements listed, the licence should "be in your possession)" or else it can be deemed you don't have one
  8. No. I ended up having to do CBT, etc as if I was a novice. The annoying thing about my court case was my insurance broker (Collonades) provided details to the court on my behalf, with the quote that I had been with them since 1978 and my record was unbroken but it was ignored
  9. Be very careful if you have to send them to DVLA. they don't accept photocopies, even when signed to show they are a true copy of the original (been there, done that) and are very good at losing originals. As I was informed at the time (2005) "we don't make mistakes, it's up to you to prove you have a full licence. PS it cost me a huge fine, points on the licence they said I didn't have, and £6000 fighting them in court after getting pulled and told my licence did not cover the bike I was riding (kawasaki Z400)
  10. I find this post is full of joy and mirth To celebrate tiggie's day of birth As a child the day Is full of awe and wonder But at my age it's one day closer to being six foot under
  11. All the above and more, Fastbob
  12. When did they start charging bikes to park? I've been parking up for free every time I've been there, on a side street just off from the sea front.there is a area with a few parking bays and that's an ideal spot away from the tourists
  13. Oddly enough, so has mine. I think the heat has got to it
  14. @RideWithStyles it is indeed injection. Only seems to run rough at tickover on a hot engine
  15. I have a weird issue with the 600. Noticed yesterday morning at work that tickover speed was rough, with a intermittent noise like a small misfire. At high speed everything is ok, but going home, when moving off in slow traffic it ran like I was in the wrong gear,ie stuttering when I pulled off. Any ideas guys (and girls) ?
  16. I wanted to at least drop by and say hello, but due to health issues (my fingers on my left hand are locking up) it's becoming difficult to do long rides, and I'm having to contemplate looking for work nearer home. Hopefully it's a good enough turn out to make GOG's efforts worth it
  17. Jut use your phone/camera upside down
  18. It was a generic ATF, probably about 5 weight. The bottle is still at my lockup,so I'll pop over and see
  19. Is that the one I saw mentioned on BBC news at weekend?
  20. Nice place, Burton, but too many bloody sheep and too much sheep shit
  21. When I did judo as a youngster I was told the British version was created to give an incentive to learn, hence the belt system, and it was indeed a lot of throwing your opponent over your shoulder and then restraining them on the floor until you received the "I yield" tap. It was basically using their weight /inertia against them. I had to carry a licence with me for a few years, as your body was classes as a lethal weapon, and if challenged to a fight on the street you were supposed to warn them, twice, that you practiced and what belt/dan you were (really?) No one at my school knew I trained until a picture appeared in the local paper of me attending a national championship, and after that it was a nightmare with the school bullies trying to get me to react, but most of the time I ignored them, though I did injure one persistent twat quite badly
  22. I'm 63,and my current steed is now getting a bit uncomfortable to ride over long distances. My commute to work is 23 miles either way, and when I go to get off my left knee clicks and hurts and both hands and wrists are stiffening up
  23. Fixed my ABS problem. A fortnight ago a woman looked straight at me, hen pulled out onto the roundabout in front of me so brakes used in anger for only the 2nd time since I've owned the bike. Since then I have had the ABS light continously flashing, and the code was one long ulse followed by 3 short pulses, meaning rears ensor failure couldn't get the bloody thing out so I bought a second hand caliper bracket, complete with working sensor via fleabay for £20. Fitted it at the lock up this morning and now lights back to normal. A clip had snapped on the brake line that held the wire to the sensor, so it was hanging loose and when I braked hard it got trapped between the swing arm and the exhaust which shredded it
