I have had problems with the bike recently I had the valve clearances done and the engine timing set to tdc I took it for a run and this is where the problems start I have lost all power when I turn the throttle it will start ‘just’ it will spit and splatter the cut out I have no revs it will sit at 2000 on tick over but will not go any higher

Please help!!!!

Did you pay a mechanic to do the valve clearances or did you do it yourself? Did you have the problems before the valve clearance was done or did they only start after?

How did you do the valve clearances? Did you use A feeler gauge to do them with and where did you get the clearance numbers?


I would double check the figures and make sure you have set them right.

Did you have the problem before you adjusted the valves or only after? Did you do any other work at the same time?


Are you sure you were top dead center on the compression stroke when you adjusted them? And that you weren't on top dead center the exhaust stroke? If you adjusted them on the exhaust stroke they will be wrong. You should check them again.
