michalepaucek Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 (edited) Hi guys!I have oil cream up on my bike and I do an oil and engine flush. Then I realized that I just put it down to crappy weather. I had the cylinder head and head gasket did two months ago.I'm wondering what oil brand should I use. What are you guys using? I asked some people and they told me two oil types which are 10w/40 and 10w/30. More people said I should use the 10w/30 because mine is the old engine and it works better than the former one, and people also suggested I refer to this website about motorcycles. Need some advice from you guys who have used this? Please help me.Thanks in advance! Edited August 9, 2020 by michalepaucek Quote
Gerontious Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 It doesn't matter. use any big name brand. castrol, slkolene, Shell, Motul, and more. I bought Castrol this time but it could just as easily have been anything else. I would suggest that you avoid supermarket own brands.. and brands that you have never heard of. the most important thing is that the oil you use meets the standard in the owners manual of your bike. if you dont know what that is then ask. Mississippi Bullfrog Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Either 10W/30 or 10W/40 will be fine. As said above just keep to a decent brand which will have good quality detergents. I've used Halfords own brand for years with no issues. Quote
