tim9 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Hi Guys, So I've just started riding and got a 2009 CBF 125.The guy I bought it from said it had been sitting for a while. So I've ridden about 150 miles on it. Then today I stopped at the lights and it cut out, and the engine management light came on. I managed to get it started again after letting the bike sit for a minute. And the warning light had gone. So I kept riding. And this happened a couple more times. But it started if I turned it of and on again. And this even happened when crusing 50mph, the engine just cut out??Don't know if you have any ideas, what this issue could be?I was thinking it might have been bad fuel, as the fuel is getting low?? dynax Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 No idea regarding the engine management but i would recommend giving it a full service, fresh fuel wouldn't hurt either Quote
dynax Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Quick google suggests it could be a tank breather or fuel pump issue Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Possibly a poor / intermittent connection (Ignition / Fuel pump?) Quote
tim9 Posted October 21, 2020 Author Posted October 21, 2020 So I've found my problem. It was the bolt holding the negative on the battery had come off. So the the pump was turning off I guess when I got a bump it lost contact and stalled the bike.I managed to find the bolt so now runs perfect. Thanks for your help though Quote
