manxie49 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I found this to be well worth a read. Over recent years I've always tried to buy the best kit I can afford, mainly because I ride year round so wanted gear that was going to be warm, waterproof, but also give some protection. That said, there is some pretty good, non high-end clobber on the market, I don't think you have to always got for the big names. I think you need to just be aware of what you're buying and what it's limitations are..... https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/products/leather-jackets-trousers-and-race-suit-reviews/cheap-motorcycle-leathers-fake-danger?fbclid=IwAR3qR0ft_tsJg2g8g2syVBG_mrUbZfk4mUgOkhrwRj104Hmj617RvyPxZas Quote
potatobroxd Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I wear bull-it jeans and DXR jackets, not super well-known brands but the quality and waterproofing seems to hold up after years of use. Havent tested its abrasion resistance but i dont plan to anytime soon. Quote

Bullit Jeans are pretty good, and hard wearing, I've had a pair for a long time now, I even wear them when working on my building projects. They're still going strong, not sure how they'd hold up if I was ever unfortunate enough to intimate with the tarmac, hopefully I'm not gonna find out either.... Quote
