Calamari Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Hi, I'm new here and relatively new to biking I've just got my CBT a 2nd time (this time for a geared bike) with the intention of getting my A2 (I am 19) v soon, so I do not currently own a bike, Licence courses are few and far between as are test dates afaik If I get a 125 and just practice and learn the parts I can't take an A2 test on that bike? Conversely I can't practice riding an A2 bike with L plates But my test must be taken on an A2 bike with L plates Is there an alternative to waiting and booking an A2 licence course? If not please recommend providers in within an hour or so of Cheltenham/Oxford Many Thanks D Quote
dynax Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 It's the same test regardless of which bike you use, it's only the difference in the engine size and power to weight ratio that determines which category licence you end up with. So practicing on a 125 is still applicable as it's all the same Quote
Bender Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Nice thread title , if you pass your test but no one is there did you pass.... Do test on 125. Ohh good luck Quote
Pbassred Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 I practiced for hours on my 125. It sux that you have to pay for lessons but then there is more to learning than practice. That's why teachers exist. It also sux that in a couple of years you will need to take the test all over again for the bigger bike. Unfortunetly no one is campaigning to change that. Quote
