Hi everyone, Wafty here. I’m 74 years of age, passed my motorcycle test in 1963 so as you can imagine I’ve had a few bikes along the way ! I live a few miles away from the Mecca of Matlock Bath.I’m beginning to feel the time has come to be able to ride in a more upright position than l have in the past and research has guided me to here. Can’t make my mind up whether to wait for the new model to be made available or to look for a low mileage older one. Any advice will be more than welcome, thanks.

Nice. Personally I'd go used, let someone else take the depreciation and I'm sure you'll find one with some good farkles.  I quite fancy the rally raided ones, seen a couple second hand that have tempted me.

Hi. I’ve recently got a 2021 CB500X and so far it’s been great. I downsized to it and was a bit apprehensive about riding a bike that produced one third of the power of my previous one but around where I live it’s just as fast from A-B and is a lot more fun to ride. It’s also over 100kg lighter than my old bike and twice as economical. That’s a win:win situation. I did consider hanging in for the 2022 model but the simplicity of the single front disc, a (slightly) lower price and a shorter wait for delivery swung me to the 2021. If you go for a secondhand one and are considering going off road at all the changes made for 2019 were a real improvement over the previous years. I hope you find what you’re looking for.

I’m thinking the same mate, comfort and practicality comes before speed these days !

Many thanks for your comment, thinking of hanging on for the latest model. I will be going down the same route as yourself, from far more powerful bikes to a practical one !
